Rent a green RV
to save money
and the planet

You can rent a green RV to save lots on fuel, on heating in winter and on cooling in summer, plus on lighting and running appliances year-round.

The biggest savings will most likely be in fuel for driving, but air conditioning that runs off battery power can save a lot of fuel, particularly if you have solar panels that recharge the batteries and if you stay for long periods without starting the vehicle motor or any other power generator. Plus it will save electricity fees in parks that charge for energy use.

When you choose a rental RV, make sure it:

  • is light
  • has low wind drag,
  • gets good fuel economy and
  • is generally an economical vehicle to operate.

The easiest way to do this is to choose the type of RV by:

  • size
  • style
  • brand and
  • model.

Generally speaking, a small RV will use a lot less fuel than a large RV.

For example, motorhomes based on the Mercedes Sprinter van and VW Crafter van are economical, they come in a range of sizes, there are plenty on the used vehicle market, and some Mercedes are available in four-wheel drive.

If you go about it the right way, renting a green RV can save you lots.
